Confidence

I remember being shy for as long as I can remember.
Whether it has done me good or harmed me, it has made me who I am. Slowly but surely, I have become more open and more confident in myself.
Stop being shy for it only harms you. The amount of friendships, connections, or memories that have been lost solely due to my lack of self-confidence is overwhelming. This surely should not be the case for others because shyness can be fixed. Expose yourself to activities you’ve never done before, for that’s the only way to overcome your shyness and timidness. If you stutter or embarrass yourself, it does not matter. The opinions of others do not validate who you are; only you know your true self-worth. You will be learning that you were scared of nothing, but the opinions of others. At the end of the day, no one really cares, those strangers, teachers, or classmates do not either. Be who you are,

Only you are what is bringing you down and preventing yourself from experiencing wonderful things. Ask questions if you are confused and speak your mind. Do not isolate yourself from others either. Make friends and connections because that’s the only way to make it through life.
Do not get me wrong, maintaining privacy from others is helpful. Personally, it has helped become friends with genuine people. Shyness has made me avoid ignorant decisions. But when it comes down to academics, I have lost learning opportunities, only because I was scared to ask the teacher a question. In reality, the teacher just wants to see you succeed, but you only worried that others would make fun of you.
Now understand that this only my opinion. If you believe you were born to be shy, embrace that, if it makes you happy.
Be happy.
