STRESS, STRESS, and....STRESS.

There's no doubt that 2020 is by far the most interesting year for us all. With COVID-19, standardized testing, school, programs, and all plans cancelled. This is obviously affecting college admissions. The anxiety is real. BUT then again, when is it never daunting when it comes to applyting to college? School hasn't started, but I think we all know what to pretty much expect.
“Follow your fear.”
Success is never easy. It comes with challenges and tolerance. As a high school senior, a lot of things come to mind. Well just on thing acually: COLLEGE
Snooooze!
Well, this may not be the case anymore because school is online, but let's be real; we're always hitting that snooze button to get at least a minute more of sleep. Sleep has got to be the best gift for humans, but waking up early always leads me to a productive day! It's wake-up time. It's time to chop chop with class work and college essays!
Online Classes
I'm pretty surprised that my laptop that I'm using for this blog is stilll surviving. It's been through 8 hours of Zoom on a daily basis. Let me tell you that my laptop is almost 10 years old! It overheats like crazy(might as well grill some BBQ on it). Anyways, with online learning, I got busier. It makes no sense, but I really did it get busier throughout quarantine. How have you been learning? It definitely isn't the same as in-person classes, but at least we're still getting an education, right? It's hard to focus, especially when your teacher is too comftorable in front of the camera, and he's in his PJ's (if you know, you know). This is all part of adaptability. It's a skill that we can all learn and use in the future. Adapting to any working environment will be helpful, trust me.
College Applications
I'm still a senior in high school, and I for sure am not a professional in this field. I'm just a student fighting my way to submit all my college applications to the best of my ability. College admissions is really unpredictable. This year, it'll be very different from previous years because of our given situation. This doesn't mean it got harder or easier to get accepted into them. Just different. As I mentioned, we have to learn to adapt to changes. I'm trying my best and that's all that matters.
Many of the sophomores asked me for advice. This is why I love Nike, but "just do it". College applications are never easy. If you're expecting this process to go the way you want it to be, you're in wonderland. The truth is, the college admissions process is stressful and daunting. Every senior can relate, but it really is. It's okay if you're scared or worried. It's a normal thing. Even if we're all scared though, we do it because we all have a dream. Follow it and GO FOR IT! Also...I'd be happy to help with your college applications and work on essays together. I am no expert, but I can certainly help in any way I can:)
Reflection and Change
I don't know if it's just me, but I feel OLD. I've said this for years since high school, but now that it's my last year as a teenager, I actually feel old. Don't me like me unless you like feeling old (weird, but okay..). Throughout high school, I made memories, life-long relationships, and also decisions that I regret. If you haven't checked it out, I highly encourage you to check out my previous blog, "My First Years". But I'll summarize it shortly here for you:)
There are many regrets I have as a high schooler. I wish I could've done more, but also relax too. I remember stressing so much. I rarely hung out with my friends and always stayed inside my home. Obviously, I've changed. It's all through reflecting every year. As a senior, I'm reflecting more because I'm only a step away from becomig an adult. Yikes! I feel super old just by writing that. Reflecting as helped me in a number of ways, but it especially helped me in becoming a better person. You should considering devoting at least a minute reflecting on yourself and your experiences. If anything, let me know as well! I'd be happy and more than willing to talk it with you guys!
